190 - hip-hip-hip-hooray

I'm not sure if the sun hitting beaver on the head with an owl really qualifies as a punchline, but that's all you're getting for now. I should have called it quits after the first 3 panels.

Next monday my holiday begins, so I won't be drawing any comics for the next two weeks. But before you put that gun to your head let me tell you that I have rounded up some of the best webcomic creators out there and, by a careful combination of flattery and blackmail, have persuaded them to draw guest strips for me. I kind of forgot I only update twice a week and went a little over the top, so there is going to be a new guest strip up every single day! Make sure you don't miss any!

That SO does counta as a punchline - brilliant! Esp his disappointed little face ...

Glad to see the sun does wear a hat. I think i like the sun after all.

Well I like it, and that's all that counts (for me anyway).

Juggling with scissors? He'll have someone's eye out with that.

I love the owls 'hoot?' in the third panel... Also 'how to fill a shelf' - ha!

kate - celestial bodies are notoriously reckless.
pan - It's a shame the book titles are a bit hard to read - I preferred 'generic book vol 2'
rick - hurrah!
betty - and creepy little shoes
pog - I know - if I'd stopped at three panels I never would have got it in.

You're quite right. Only last week, I spotted Jupiter running with his laces undone.

I'm also surprised you didn't notice a camero appearance by one of your favourite characters.

Is the bat on the bookchelf that vampire/count that Steve caught ages ago? If so, he makes a good bookend.

Olivia Joules / Website (16.6.06 13:10)
So that's the hat whih keeps the sun cool? I never knew!

erudite baboon / Website (16.6.06 14:32)
chintz - yes! He is lucky to be hidden beneath the shelf or the sun would burn him up.
OJ - I'm not sure what the hat provides shade from though.

Ben Turner (16.6.06 18:46)
Perhaps the hat is providing shade for anyone directly above his head.

So wo feeds Steve when you're away - do you get a cat-sitter in?

cha0tic / Website (17.6.06 03:27)
Superb. The Shoe Elf's shoe, the Owl was one of Steves Judges in the underworld? Looks like the sun, or should that be The Sun, has the Cockroaches hat. I spotted the count in the jar (presumably a dark glass jar) & the skull looks familiar.

Hang on. We get Beaver & Steve twice a week when you're here. You go on Holiday & we get Beaver & Steve everyday. Could you go on Holiday more often please?

Doot! Hoot!
LOL.
Nice owl.

You're on holiday, but I'd like to just say that the current Beaver & Steve guest comic is the closest I've yet seen to genius. Beaver is suddenly a cockney, and everything.

Oo I like this.
